The cost of running the US Government comes out to $8,000 per person. If you paid less than that in Federal Income taxes last year, you are a net taker in our society, and higher-income tax payers are carrying the load for you.
Since the bottom 50% of tax payers pay less than 4% of Federal Income taxes, and most of them pay none -- and some even get paid by the Federal Government instead (the Earned Income Tax Credit recipients),why don't they contribute to society in some way? Shouldn't we all have some obligations as citizens?
The military is already overwhelmingly Republican, and middle class. Since low-income Democrats contribute nothing to society now, they should serve. The only problem is they would make lame soldiers because they are cowardly and hate their country. And they are also not smart enough to handle any equipment more complicated than an espresso machine. They would have to be used for menial labor in non-combat sit
